Seria

I can still hear
The call of the sea,
As it splashes
By the wall
By the beach, so tall

I can still hear
The sound of silence,
The cry of peace,
By the streets,
The rhythm and it’s beat

I can still see
The donkey that nods
He’s all alone
Filled with sorrow
But he’s there every tomorrow

I can still see
The long rainbows
Trailing those
Wide blue skies
Up there, up above, up high

I can still feel
The warm breeze
In the morning
And the coolness
Of the air at night

I can still feel
The smiles on the faces
Of the children
Freely enjoying
Outside playing

I can still smell
The fragrance
Of the wet lawn
After the rain
On afternoons

I can still smell
The sweet smell of barley,
And the cake mum
Used to bake,
On not so special occassions.

I can still remember
These memories
How we used
To enjoy
Life in Seria
Life in Brunei
